Thanks for visiting my blog. My name is Jenna Hammond. I am a senior at Penn State. My major is Marketing and my minor is Economics. I'm involved with Valley, Penn State's Life and Style Magazine. I have been involved with THON since freshman year. I've had the opportunity to experience three different committee positions: hospitality, operations, and merchandise. I am already looking forward to THON 2012! When I'm not busy studying or attending various meetings on campus, I enjoy baking, shopping, watching TV, and reading my Kindle. Over the summer, I enjoy water-skiing with my family. I am from a very small town outside of Pittsburgh, so there are plenty of rivers around for boating.
I chose to major in Marketing because I am a very creative person and this major allows me to utilize my creativity while providing a strong background in business as well. I am taking this class in hopes of gaining a better understanding of how web design works. I hope that this understanding will make me a more well-rounded applicant for marketing positions. Through my own experience online, I know the impact of web design on a consumer's willingness to linger on a particular site. Knowing how "to build and implement marketing pages" will be an advantageous skill as I move forward in my field. I look forward to the opportunity to dive deeper into the world of blogging, as it is a rapidly growing marketing and promotional tool. The knowledge gained in this course will help me to be a better employee in the future.
